The Climb of Mt. Naupa

“As Nagahanon I was surprised by how beautiful and nature worthy the city is.”​

It wasn't on my radar when I found out about the place named Mt. Naupa – sure thing my parents did not mention it even though they lived before the city becomes a city, known for supplying electricity and has a huge factory of cement.    I did a quick search to verify if this place exist, there –a lot of photos and selfies popped up.

To track the place, there are two main entrances – the easiest trail is in Barangay Lutac City of Naga where you can take a habal-habal ride going to the peak, but if you want a stiff and rocky trail then Tungkop Minglanilla Cebu CIty is the best way to try.

Of course, I went down the easiest track. There you can see people using woods for cooking and as well as the typically Filipino vibe – the nap under the tree. Also, you can see the residents smiling and somewhat pleased to see the tourists.  

When you almost reach the peak you can oversee the hidden gem of Naga. The scenery and mountain ranges. Imagine living here and looking at these things every day.

Most of the path is cemented for the comfort of the residents. But this place offers something else. Initially, an entry fee is required upon entering the peak. For tourists who wish to spend the night, they can rent little hut with different rates.

The picturesque City of Naga can be seen at the top of the mountain. It is certainly not the highest summit, but suffice it to say that it is a haven for those who cherish landscapes like this.

When we got there the sun was ready for sunset and the sky is partially orange shade. You will be surprised at the sea of clouds appears, covering the landscape. The stately view perfectly matches the silhouette of a solitary mango tree.

As Nagahanon, it was surprising to see how beautiful and nature-worthy this city is. And we must always explore and enjoy our unique region. Maybe the clime is more than just a clime.
